Neural therapy Q&A

What is Neural injection therapy?

Neural therapy is a gentle, injection-based treatment that supports the nervous system to reduce pain and promote healing. It’s especially helpful for people with persistent symptoms that haven’t improved with traditional care.

Using small amounts of a local anesthetic (Procaine), injections are placed into areas such as scars, tight tissues, or irritated nerves. The goal is not to numb pain, but to calm abnormal nerve signaling and help restore healthy communication within the body.

How does neural therapy work?

The autonomic nervous system controls all the essential functions, like digestion, breathing, and heart rate. Disturbances, or interference fields, in your system cause pain. Neural therapy stops these interference fields and corrects nervous system dysfunction using an injection of a local anesthetic.

What sets perineural injections apart from other alternative treatments and therapies is that a single treatment can help reduce inflammation instantly, so the effects may be felt right away. Each patient is different, but it is typically recommended that you do a minimum of 3 injections to maximize the therapeutic effects.

What are the benefits of neural therapy?

Neural therapy may offer several benefits. It’s a relatively safe, alternative form of pain relief that you can receive in place of surgery or prolonged prescription medication use. This means you avoid the expense, inconvenience, pain, and lengthy recovery of surgery. You also don’t risk side effects from medications. After a series of perineural injections, many patients report approximately 80% total pain resolution. To maintain results, it may be recommended that you return for the occasional maintenance treatment.
