Mariella Fischer was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She received her degree in Animal Sciences from Oregon State University in Corvallis and worked in an environmental laboratory there before moving back to Portland.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her Bichon Frise named Penelope, reading, and playing video games. She is also an avid foodie and enjoys trying out new restaurants and loves going bowling. When she is not at work or pursuing her hobbies, she can be found relaxing at home while caring for her collection of 30 houseplants.
